The Federal 100 Awards are presented to government, industry and academic leaders who have gone above and beyond to make a real difference in the way technology was bought, managed and used in the federal IT community. "So often, the focus is on things that go wrong in government," FCW Editor-in-Chief Troy K. Schneider said. "But there's a tremendous amount that's going right, which rarely makes the headlines. The Fed 100 winners are making some great things happen — and we're excited to share those stories."

Honorees this year include 23 from the private sector, one from academia, 76 from the federal government – with 49 in civilian agencies, 19 in defense, five from the intelligence community and three from Capitol Hill.
