McDonagh Named to FOLIO:'s Top Women in Media

(VIENNA, VA., April 9, 2015) -- 1105 Media, Inc. is pleased to announce that Chief Marketing Officer Carmel McDonagh has been named to FOLIO:'s 2015 Top Women in Media list.

Folio:'s annual Top Women in Media list celebrates the creativity and accomplishments of women who have fearlessly moved their teams, brands and companies forward, made strides in their respective markets, and created lasting impressions on their colleagues.

McDonagh was chosen for the list under the Mentor category, which highlights women who've made an extraordinary effort, and had an extraordinary impact, on the careers of their colleagues.

"I'm thrilled that Carmel has been recognized by her colleagues at FOLIO: for this honor," said Henry Allain, Chief Operating Officer for 1105 Media. "She is known at 1105 Media as a strong, consistent leader who is steadfast in moving forward, building quality products and implementing effective growth strategies. Time and time again, she taps into the strengths of her team and rolls-up her own sleeves to ensure success; she is a manager who sets strategic goals and has the tactical knowledge to make it happen."

McDonagh began her career in the media industry as an Assistant Circulation Manager at Ziff Davis Media in 1997. After four years, she became the Group Circulation Director over brands such as eWEEK, Baseline and CIO Insights at Ziff. Carmel moved to 1105 Media in 2005 and within her first year became their Vice President of Circulation, winning a Gold award from Circulation Management magazine. Because of her success in Audience Development, Carmel was asked to head up the new Attendee Marketing division of 1105 Media in 2009 and implement the same audience development disciplines and practices for events across the organization. In 2013, Carmel became Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing media marketing and event strategy for the Government and Education business units.

"Mentorship should be encouraged at all levels in the organization; they have the extraordinary power to transform a project into an experience, a manager into a leader and a position into a career," said McDonagh. "I am grateful to have had many extraordinary mentors over the course of my career who have propelled me forward in my own professional journey, allowing me to pay it forward. I consider myself privileged to be among this year's honorees."

McDonagh and her fellow Top Women in Media will be recognized and celebrated at the FOLIO: Luncheon on June 8, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
