Law and Ready Conference and Exposition, being held April 23-24, 2008 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Connecting more than 5,000 government security, law enforcement and emergency response professionals across all disciplines and jurisdictions, this year’s event will arm officials with the tools and information necessary to stop the next attack.

Conference Highlights

GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready 2008 will provide attendees with four keynote sessions to address all aspects of our nation’s security. As Prince William County, Virginia begins to enforce immigration checks by local police, Julie L. Myers, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Immigration & Customs Enforcement joins GovSec to discuss how local, state and federal law enforcement can work together to capture known and suspected terrorists before and after they enter the country. Immediately following Assistant Secretary Myers, Gregory Cade, Assistant Administrator, FEMA, US Fire Administration will discuss how first responders and fire services officials have met the challenges posed by devastating man-made and natural disasters. Following Fire Administrator Cade, Greg Massa, Chief of the FBI’s National Joint Terrorism Task Force will share ways the NJTTF is working with its regional counterparts to disrupt, dismantle and eliminate terrorist threats to America. Finally, on Thursday, April 24, Permanent Undersecretary of Defence for the Republic of Estonia Lauri Almann will give an in-depth keynote on the cyber attack on his country and the lessons learned from the first cyber attack on a nation state.

The noteworthy Exposition show floor will feature more than 400 companies showcasing the latest technologies and cutting-edge solutions to arm security professionals with the tools necessary to safeguard our nation.
